The smells of smoke and barbeque sauce will, again, be wafting over the shores of Owen Sound late this summer as five professional "ribbers" make this one of their many stops on the 2012 North American tour.

The teams compete for various trophies including best ribs, best chicken, best sauce and the coveted "People's Choice" award — as chosen by the festival attendees.

Along with the ribbers, who come from as far away as Florida and Alabama, will be various other vendors with something for everyone.

This is a family event with free gate admission, live music and kids' activities. Visitors only have to pay for food, beverages and what ever they purchase from the vendors.

Organizers are expecting upwards of 20,000 visitors over the course of the three-day event with partial proceeds going to charity.
